Vulcanization is a specialized process where the upper is stitched, wrapped with rubber foxing tape, and then heat-pressed in a vulcanizing oven to permanently bond the materials together.</p><p data-start="476" data-end="699">This type of manufacturing is no longer widely available in the United States. The last U.S. vulcanizing factory closed in the 1990s, and the specialized equipment and craftsmanship required for this process moved overseas.</p><p data-start="701" data-end="869">Because of this, we work closely with long-standing partner factories in Vietnam that specialize in this construction and share our commitment to quality craftsmanship.</p><p data-start="871" data-end="1123">We&#x2019;re passionate about the benefits of a true vulcanized sneaker, from durability to the unique finishing process that cannot be replicated through modern shortcuts.
